RJHC Sisterhood

“For nearly 90 years, the Sisterhood has cared for, protected,
and loved the residents of the Robison Jewish Health Center,
and we are forever grateful for their years of loyalty.”

- Kimberly Fuson, Robison Jewish Health Center Administrator

The Robison Jewish Health Center Sisterhood is a group of women (and men) who provide ongoing funding for the well-being of the residents at the Robison Jewish Health Center. Members of the Sisterhood also volunteer their time at Robison in several different ways ranging from reading aloud to residents, bringing children in to visit, and arranging weekly entertainment.

The Sisterhood Mission

The object and purpose of the Sisterhood is to enhance the quality of life for residents at Robison Jewish Health Center. All funds of the Sisterhood are used solely for this purpose and for the operating expense of the Sisterhood.

The Sisterhood underwrites funding for major equipment purchases for the infirmary, for programming and for a variety of activities not covered by RJHC’s budget. Such activities include trips to concerts, plays, workshops and crafts and other ccultural events. These extras give residents of Robison the opportunity to remain connected to the Portland community and to stay engaged in interesting and beneficial projects.

Sisterhood’s History

A group of Jewish women in 1928, true to the tradition of Judaism, banded together to perform charitable and humane work in assisting in the care of the Jewish aged in the community of Portland, Oregon, by organizing the Sisterhood of the Jewish Old People’s Home. How You Can Make a Difference

Sisterhood’s funds come from membership dues, celebration of life tributes and annual events. These funds are used to purchase items such as bingo cards, televisions for resident rooms, food warming trays and many other necessary items. Please consider joining the Sisterhood and help enrich the lives of residents at RJHC by providing them with the love and comfort they deserve.
