| Definition: | Provides direct basic nursing care to residents according to Robison Jewish Health Center policies and procedures, including services listed in the Oregon Administrative Rules, and to ensure the Robison Jewish Health Center’s goal of providing care to our residents in an atmosphere of comfort, independence and dignity.

| Reports To: | Directly accountable to the unit Charge Nurse, ultimately accountable to the Resident Care Manager or Nursing Supervisor depending on the shift worked.

| Qualifications:………… | Education: High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred. Certification as a Nurse Assistant in the State of Oregon, having successfully completed an Oregon State Board of Nursing approved training program, and must be in good standing with the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
.Work Experience: A minimum of one (1) year current nursing assistant experience is required. Satisfactory clinical training at the Robison Jewish Home will be accepted in lieu of experience. Nursing Assistant experience in an acute setting may substitute for long term nursing experience. Skills: Ability to handle the many situations that are presented by residents, families, supervisors and staff. Ability to do repetitive detail work. Ability to notice change in a resident’s physical and/or psycho-social condition and report to the Nurse Supervisor. Ability to be flexible and adapt to change, and take direction from the Nurse Supervisor. Must demonstrate knowledge of body mechanics and the ability to safely transfer residents. Must demonstrate safe feeding techniques. Computer capability desirable or willing to learn |
